What are people looking for on initial contact.?
Hi everyone. I have been curious for a while about what sort
of things most people look for when they are first contacted
by someone from the site. What do they look for in the correspondence
that might move them to reply or to ignore it. Is it usually
something in that original email, or do you rely more on
what you see in their profile. Do you necessarily even check
out the profile in most cases, or do you just delete and move
along? Are there differences between the women and the
guys? As for myself, I at least acknowledge all email, (it
just seems polite to me)and usually base decisions on subsequent
communications, but I also think that as a guy I get a manageable
amount of email, and that might not be true for some women,
who are probably more likely to be deluged. I wonder if the
things that tend to be successful have some consistency
across members, or if they are as varied and unique as the
people that make up the scene. What do you think?
