Cyber Insensitivity & Site Etiquette

I'm reminded of an old tune that in today's most
impersonal Cyberage might go something like "Where
Have all the Manners gone...gone lacking every one..."

I do know that Adult FriendFinder can make some improvements to allow its
members to facilitate and politely acknowledge or categorize
receipts of e-mails and chat attempts. They might add buttons
so that some manners or only a click away. You know... buttons
that might say things like: "your ???? was received...and"...
"Very Interested, but have to get back at a later date";
"Thanks, but you're not my type"; "I'll
e-mail later if I'm interested"; "Please,
don't contact me again as I'm not at all interested";
and other such buttons.

Otherwise, both senders and recipients are sometimes
hard pressed to ascertain whether or not contact has been
sent/viewed fully. We are sometimes left to our own guesses
and annoyance. In the fast-paced cyberworld, we are depersonalized,
as are our feelings.

Yes, there are many who either don't seemingly read
the details of an ad or choose to ignore these specific details.
Wouldn't it be nice to click a button like "Would
you please read the ad before responding next time. You
are nowhere near whom I'm looking for". Perhaps,
there may even be a default block button attached for these
"poor readers". But what of all those others?
Does a "no-answer" always mean "no interest?"
Couldn't it mean that your e-mail was never read, or
that the particular timing was just not right. Wouldn't
it be nice to be at least appreciated for trying?

I know that I may be hoping for way too much, but the computer
age has desensitized us all. Good manners have virtually
disappeared as we hide behind our screen names. Even though
we may all try to be "new-fashioned, " I think
we could all relearn something "old-fashioned"
like manners. These are timeless and precious.
