Political animals/symbols?
I already posted this question in the General Advice section
of the Articles page, but I thought about it and decided
that it'd be better to ask the question in the questions
section. After this paragraph, you will be viewing the
question exactly as I asked it previously.
Okay, I realize that this might not be the proper venue for
such a discussion, but I'm just curious what fellow
freaks like me have to say on the issue. I do not feel that
the Republicans won this year's election; I believe
that the Democrats lost it, and that all comes down to two
words: Karl Rove. The Republican strategist perfectly
marketed the Bush/Cheney campaign, from its pro-Bush
ads to the anti-Kerry propoganda, and it was that picture
of Bush, inaccurate though it may be, that put him back in
the White House for another term. There are things that
the Kerry Kamp could've done to combat all the things
that Rove did, but they just didn't have their own Karl
Rove.
I feel that this is not only the reason why the Republicans
won this year's election, but it is also the reason
why Democrats and Republicans are the vast majority of
Congress. This is the reason why everything is always termed
a bi-partisan effort, because only two parties are in the
positions of power. Sure, you have other parties that try
to get in, and a few actually succeed, but in Congress, the
true power is in the numbers, and there just aren't
enough independents in there to make a real difference
in this country. A lot of that comes from a lack of incoming
funds to those parties, and that has to do with how they market
themselves.
That being said, we all know what symbol the Dem's and
Rep's use: the donkey and the elephant, respectively.
Well, my question is this: to better market themselves,
what animal/symbol should the other parties use? We all
know that the four parties with the best chance of representation
in the gov't are the Libertarians, the Reformists,
the Greens, and the Socialists. Also, I am interested in
founding my own party, the Party for Moderate Politics,
which would incorporate the best ideas from all these parties.
I know that most independent parties are symbolized on
polls by a star, but I would like some ideas as to what symbols
could be separately and exclusively used to replace and
properly market these five parties. The floor is yours,
Adult FriendFinder.
